Do I have to have X-rays?We only do X-rays if necessary. Our goal is to assist you with your health goals. We offer the state-of-the-art in X-ray equipment. The very best in safety because your health is our goal. According to the state of North Carolina, we have the safest X-ray equipment in Western North Carolina.
We offer the following for your health and safety:
1. Bolin Shield Stand:
These are shields that are positioned between you and the x-rays that protect the body parts that are most sensitive to radiation. Namely your eyes, thyroid, breasts, and reproductive organs.
2. Rare Earth Screens and High Speed Film:
When you buy film for your camera you may notice that the boxes are marked with numbers such as 100, 200, 400, etc... These numbers represent the speed of the film. The greater the number the faster the film, which means you can take pictures in less light or fast action without blurring. The Rare Earth Screens and High Speed Film that we use gives our x-ray camera a speed of 800. This is among the fastest possible film screens available for taking quality x-rays of the spine. This means less radiation to you.
The use of either of the above protective devices would qualify as being "safe". We choose to use both because we want to make sure that we have done everything possible for your safety and long term health.
Our Scanning system is a safe, non-invasive procedure that can be used on pregnant or possibly pregnant patients. This is a better option than X-rays.
